“Dictionary of the Khazars” was the first novel by Serbian writer Milorad Pavić. A lexicon-format novel narrates the story of Khazaria and the mass religious conversion of the Khazar people. Based on a historical event with mostly fictional characters the novel takes the form of three cross-referenced mini-encyclopedias.
